The regulations are positive in that they preserve the flexible scheme specific funding approach but they will have an impact on how schemes are managed in future in particular regarding timelines to full funding.

The draft rules are also helpful as they come at a time when most schemes need to review strategy in light of rapid, recent rises in both interest rates and inflation.
