Willis Towers Watson – Webcast: The Pensions Regulator’s consultation on the defined benefit funding code of practice

Monday 9 March, 2020 @ 8:30 am - 9:30 am

Today, the Pensions Regulator (tPR) published its
initial consultation on the principles for a revised defined
benefit (DB) funding code of practice, outlining its
proposals for changes to the way the funding regime is
regulated.

Please join Willis Towers Watson for a webcast
on Monday, 9 March 2020 where David Fairs,
Executive Director of Regulatory Policy, Analysis
and Advice at tPR
, will give an overview of the
consultation and participate in a Q&A session.

TPR’s consultation covers:

  • The proposed regulatory approach and the introduction of twin-track routes to compliance: ‘Fast Track’ and ‘Bespoke’.
  • Setting a Long-Term Objective (LTO) and the interaction with technical provisions.
  • How scheme- and employer-specific factors ought to be accounted for in establishing acceptable funding and investment strategies.

The consultation seeks input and views on the proposed
approach, tPR’s principles and how these could be
applied in practice.

The online event will be hosted by Rash Bhabra (Head
of Retirement, GB), Adam Boyes (Head of Trustee
Consulting) and Bina Mistry (Head of Corporate
Consulting), and will include Q&A with David Fairs,
Executive Director of Regulatory Policy at the Pensions
Regulator.
