We are delighted to invite you to the Ownership Day 2019 Event. This year we’ll be launching the second annual survey of fund manager approaches to managing climate-related risk in integrated oil company investments to help investors and broader society understand the focus and time frames of the work being carried out by fund managers on behalf of their clients.
As well as the survey launch, we will be talking to the FCA and stakeholders on their views on the evolution of stewardship, and in similar vein we will be talking to two investment consultants and an owner representative on what consultants should be doing as demands on owners increase.
The programme includes:
Report Launch: Second annual survey of fund manager approaches to managing climate-related risk in integrated oil company investments
Together with the Sainsbury Family Charitable Trusts, UKSIF has surveyed the views and positions adopted by fund managers in their engagement work with Integrated Oil Companies. We are excited to be launching the findings exclusively during our Ownership Day event.
Panel: Stewardship and engagement best practice
The panel will include Mark Manning, Manager, Primary Markets Policy at the FCA, Aled Jones, Head of Sustainable Investment, Europe at FTSE Russell, fund managers and an issuer, and will discuss recent developments in stewardship policy, existing challenges and best practices.
Panel: Investment consultants, the draft stewardship code and changing expectations
The panel will consists of
• Tomi Nummela, Senior Associate, Responsible Investment and Sustainability, Mercer
• Chris Varco, Managing Director, Cambridge Associates
• Janice Turner, Co-Chair, Association of Member Nominated Trustees (AMNT)
and we will be asking what owners can expect of investment consultants and what the consultants can do to meet this demand.
