10:20am to 10:50am - DWP's consultation on social risks and opportunities in pension schemes
The first speakers will be the Department for Work and Pensions' David Farrar and Emma Walmsley who will discuss the Government's new consultation on the consideration of social risks and opportunities by occupational pension schemes. The consultation seeks to assess how trustees of pension schemes understand “social” factors and how they seek to integrate considerations of financially material social factors into their investment and stewardship activities. David and Emma will provide a brief synopsis of the consultation, after which there will be time for questions. We strongly encourage not only member participation for this session but also to provide feedback on this consultation. Further details on the consultation can be found here:

10:50am to 11:30am - AMNT's updated 2021 Red Line Voting policies - members-only session
The second speakers will be Janice Turner, Co-Chair and Leanne Clements, Campaign Manager of AMNT who will be providing members with a summary of AMNT's updated 2021 Red Line Voting (RLV) policies. Please note that this will be a members only session, with no journalists or other external stakeholders present.
You may recall in a recent newsletter that an enlightened alliance of four companies – AMX, DWS, Minerva Analytics and Northern Trust – has announced a new fund that gives investors a choice of voting policies. They can choose AMNT’s Red Line voting policies, or those of the PLSA or DWS. This new fund, coupled with the fact that it has been over five years since AMNT's first launched RLV, were the drivers for AMNT to update these policies in 2021.
This is where we need your input and participation! At the end of the discussion, we will be asking members to endorse the updated Red LIne Voting policies, as what was done when RLV was first launched in 2015. In order to aid members in this exercise, we will be providing you with a final draft of the RLV policies, with a short summary of the changes, in next Friday's newsletter, so that you have sufficient time to read them in advance of the webinar. We strongly encourage your participation in this important exercise.
If you should have any questions in the interim about this webinar, please do not hesitate to contact Leanne Clements at
