Pensions developments have continued apace over the last few months both in Parliament (with the Corporate Insolvency and Governance Act receiving royal assent and the Pension Schemes Bill moving to the House of Commons) and in the Department for Work and Pensions (with a number of significant consultations being published impacting both DB and DC occupational schemes). The Courts have been busy too, with a number of important judgments being handed down - although at the time of going to press, judgment in the follow up Lloyds hearing on transfers is still awaited.

In this session, we will focus on the following areas:

• Climate change: with increasing focus on climate change by the Government and the Pensions Regulator, we take a look at some key recent developments, including the recently published consultation on Taking Action on Climate Risk, which includes a proposal to require trustees of DB and DC occupational pension schemes to address climate change risks and opportunities through effective governance and risk management measures.
• Rectification: has long been recognised as a pragmatic route to address potentially costly mistakes in pension scheme documents. With a growing number of claims being brought before the Courts, we consider some of the key takeaways for trustees and sponsoring employers from recent cases.
