“This House Believes that Now is the Right Time for Pension Funds to Re-Risk and move into Equities” |

With equity markets coming off some recent highs, should pension funds now consider adding to their equity allocations and/or re-risk in other ways now? Will the equity bull market continue into the medium term or should pension funds tactically or strategically adjust their portfolios in other ways to capture potential returns? What are the key risks with this approach? Is now the right time for pension schemes wanting to re-risk?
On the other hand, many schemes have decided to move along a de-risking path and have therefore forgone strong equity market returns in the past few years. Why, when valuations in equities look
Our distinguished speakers will argue for or against the motion debating the pros and cons of re-risking or de-risking further and whether now is the right time for pension schemes to consider increasing allocations to equities.
