Complying with GDPR: Practical Implementation for Pension Schemes

Monday 15 January, 2018 @ 9:30 am - 2:00 pm

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will come into force on 25 May 2018 and will bring some significant changes to the requirements with which pension schemes and their advisers must comply when processing data. This half-day course will take trustees and pensions managers through the practical steps they will need to take to be compliant with the legislation by May 2018.

The course will be led by experts from the Punter Southall Group and ARC Pensions Law.

The course is aimed primarily at pension scheme trustees, but should also be of interest to anyone involved in GDPR implementation for their pension scheme, including pensions managers. The course will be interactive, with plenty of practical examples and opportunities for discussion and questions.

The course will cover:

An overview of the new GDPR requirements
Negotiating new data protection agreements
Deciding on the basis to be used for processing
Handling sensitive personal data
Data mapping, data inventories and risk assessments
Putting new GDPR policies and processes in place
Ensuring the security of data
Reviewing member communications
Managing your GDPR implementation project
Fee: £295 + VAT To include all course materials, lunch and refreshments.
