ESG and Impact Investing: Separating Signal from Noise

Monday 18 April, 2016 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

We would be delighted if you could join us for the next Investment Club lunch onMonday 18th April to discuss Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG)and Impact investing.

When discussing ESG and impact investing, the conversation often turns to one of two widely held beliefs; first, that this field is still a niche, risky sub-sector of the investing universe, and second, that one has to give up returns to have a positive impact. We think those premises are fundamentally no longer true. ESG and impact investing have moved into the mainstream, and we believe that now is the time for investors to reconsider these topics.

We will be joined by two experienced investors, Taylor Jordan and John Goldstein, who joined Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) in 2015 through GSAM’s acquisition of Imprint Capital Advisors. Taylor and John co-founded Imprint in 2007 to help foundations, families and financial institutions create and manage ESG and impact investing programs and portfolios.

During this session we will look to cover the following questions:

·         How do we define ESG and impact investing?

·         How should investors think about implementation?

·         What returns can you expect?

·         What is the future of ESG and impact investing?

There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and we look forward to the usual lively debate.
