Alternative Funding Targets

Monday 3 July, 2017 @ 8:30 am - 11:30 am

Join our national series of seminars in July and hear about:

  • Alternative Funding Targets - a new approach to measuring the size of the Black Hole in defined benefit pension schemes
  • How Liability Driven Investment can be integrated as part of your funding strategy
  • How getting your valuation negotiations right is good for trustees and sponsors

Interested? Register here.

These are topics that were put forward by attendees of our previous 2 rounds of seminars based on the findings and recommendations from our report entitled “How do we get out of this Pensions Black Hole?”. You may well have seen coverage in the press of the report, which explores why over the last 10 years the deficit in DB pension schemes has mushroomed to £900bn (the equivalent of £83,000 for every scheme member of the remaining 5,800 DB Schemes today) and why this cannot continue.

So, join our next seminar programme exploring one of the recommendations outlined in the Black Hole report, which is to give some fresh thinking to the issue of funding models and then how to agree the best approach between the trustees and sponsor.

You will hear from JLT's actuarial and investment team and we will be joined by HR Trustees (one of the leading professional independent trustee companies in the UK). In addition you will be able to have your say and share opinions with your peers via an interactive case study workshop.

Who should attend?

Trustees, Finance Directors and those with responsibility for DB pension plans within their business.
