Member Nominated Trustees and the UN Sustainable Development Goals Revolution

2018 World Pensions Forum

Member Nominated Trustees and the UN Sustainable Development Goals Revolution

At the One Planet Summit organised in Paris in December 2017 by the United Nations, the World Bank and the French government, progressive policy makers reaffirmed their support for strengthened, ESG-driven investment norms to fight climate change. The Cahier du Centre des Professions Financières just published a special report (Jan. 2018 issue) praising the work of the AMNT in that regard:

“There is a silent revolution taking place within Anglo-Saxon pension funds: board members representing workers and employees, known as employee-nominated trustees in the UK, are finally flexing their muscles, demanding ‘their money be managed along modern, ethical lines’ to quote Prof Jeffrey Sachs (Columbia University, Earth Institute), Janice Turner and David Weeks, co-chairs of the Association of Member-Nominated Trustees (AMNT), whose Red Line Voting principles exemplify the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) investment philosophy in action”

These important issues will be further discussed at the 7th World Pensions Forum held in Paris 22 – 23 March 2018 at the National School of Fine Arts, organised with the AMNT

The forum will focus more particularly on pension investment & risk management in the post-Brexit era (“asset ownership in a fractured world”), retirement regulatory best practices (“learnings from UK, Canadian and Australian regulators and policy makers”) and the fiduciary prerogatives of trustees in relation to ESG – notably corporate governancegreen finance and inclusive growth

Continuing Professional Development: the forum qualifies for 12 CPD hours

Attendance is complimentary & comprises all educational materials and meals served on site including the 22 March cocktail dinner – see registration information (page 2)
